Starting out with a very happy birthday to my new, first niece Ellie Adeline (middle name from my maternal grandmother)! Born on New Comic Book Day, a very good omen, she was 6 lbs 12 oz and 20.5”. It feels a little weird that she was born a Midwesterner, as Miranda and Dave had moved to Chicago back in July, but nevertheless I can’t help but to smile every time I see that thumbnail image.
Also, if you haven’t already heard, Greensboro Comicon has been postponed until January 12-13th, 2019. That’s giving us even more time to build up the over 12,000 $1 comics that we got together for this weekend, and they’ve promised to add even more guests when the new dates rolled around. If you’ve already picked up your tickets, they will still be honored, but we’re not currently selling any new passes for the new dates.
And as of now we are still very much open for business despite the ominous wind. We’ve actually had several customers in today that evacuated from the coastal plane, and we definitely wish them and everyone else the best possible from what’s sure to be a turbulent weekend.
