Today was an insane day with so much going on and being set up, some I can reveal now and some you need to wait just a bit longer to discover, which is why I’m posting so late!
First, we’re pleased to announce our first signing of the year, with Brian “Smitty” Smith on Wednesday, September 2nd as we celebrate the release of the first TWO volumes of his new all-ages graphic novel series, Pea Bee & Jay, which drop on the same day, Stuck Together and Wannabees! If you’re looking for something enriching to do with the kiddos that’s more engaging than virtual schooling, bring them by! We’ll be masked-up, socially-distanced and sanitary and we promise it will be a blast! Smitty is bringing everything he’s so great at to the table: sequential storytelling, vibrant color, side-splitting humor, and heart heart heart, and this project is extra special cause it was made possible with the patronage of the Parks family!
Second, we’ve got so many new toys! On Monday, we got in the Deadpool Legends Strong Guy build-a-figure wave, Spider-Man Retro Legends wave 1, and Ezra Bridger and Hera Syndulla Black Series re-issues on Monday, and tomorrow we’ll have Zeb and Chopper to join their fellow Rebels, wave 3 of the Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary, and every Mario and Star Wars LEGO set for the fall that isn’t exclusive to somewhere else available first thing in addition to the usual Funko offerings!
Third, last Thursday, Jay picked up a GIANT collection, many of the keys of which you’ve already seen and one that’s on its way to CGC as we speak, but there’s also almost TWO LONG boxes of silver age books that will be making their way out either this weekend or early next week!
It’s crazy how many books are wrapping up on Wednesday!
