Tuesday is closing day for the new place!

Not a LOT to report this week. I’ve been sleeping in my childhood bed at my parents’ house for the last three nights and will continue to do so for the next twelve night, which is both frustrating because I want to get into the new place and get settled, and extremely comforting, especially since I realized that my appreciation for sleeping in tight space and against multiple planes (i.e. back against the bed, side against the wall) most likely stems from sleeping on the bottom bunk against the wall with the bottom of my brother’s bed about a foot above my face.

That’s not exciting. What is exciting is the video above of Lois playing in the ocean last weekend at Myrtle Beach!

We’re moving sooner than we planned (two weeks since accepting an offer on the first day our place was listed), and we’re going to be “homeless,” a.k.a. living with my parents, longer that we first expected (2 1/2 weeks instead of 12 days), but I’m trying to roll with it as best I can. The comic room, pictured above in its present state, was definitely the hardest thing to pack up, but seeing my last twenty short boxes and shelves & shelves of graphic novels amongst our overstock at the warehouse makes me think it’s time to give someone else a chance with a lot of it, so expect many new items in the store stock in the coming weeks!

We have a LOT to get to this week, from our Avengers Endgame movie premiere events at the AMC Classic 18 tonight at 5 PM and the MultiPOPtural party at RED Cinemas tomorrow at 7:30 to our Free Comic Book Day pre-party signing with Chris Giarrusso for his new book Hashtag: Danger on Wednesday from 1 - 4 PM and the reveal of our exclusive variant cover to DC’s Year of the Villain #1!

I was impressed this week, both by the positive public reaction to Colton being force-choked for an undisclosed slight against me, and the quality of the Black Series Darth Vader helmet replica from Hasbro! That and the new aluminum Factory X Captain America shield at the back have renewed my love of props, so we’ll once again have the Marvel Legends Infinity Gauntlet, Black Panther helmet, and Ant-Man helmet back in stock on Tuesday, and we’ll be carrying the Luke Skywalker X-Wing helmet and more moving forward!

As usual this time of year, there’s a LOT going on in the world of comics! On Monday we announced our plans for Free Comic Book Day 2019, auspiciously taking place on Saturday, May 4th this year, Star Wars Day (“May the 4th be with you!”)! Then moments ago I announced our FCBD lead-in signing with Chris Giarrusso on Wednesday, May 1st for his new book Hashtag: Danger from Ahoy Comics! Add to that premiere events for Avengers Endgame at the AMC Classic 18 on Thursday, April 25th and the RED Cinemas on Friday, April 26th and book drops at Pilot Elementary on Monday, April 29th and Sedgefield Elementary on Tuesday, April 30th and you’ve got yourself a stew going!

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you guys out at Twin City Comic Con this Sunday! I think we put on the biggest and best little show in the state, and even though it’s a long day from sun-up to sundown, it’s great to have such a perfect mix of creators and dealers, fans and pros, accessible to everyone with very little stress on the patron’s part! And you can’t get much better for a 2nd anniversary party!
