So now that I’ve gotten myself into Star Wars Outlaws, I can say it’s one of my favorite takes on the franchise in years! A great mix of sneaking around and just blowing people away with your blaster, unlimited freedom to roam and make your own story, great mini games for slicing and hacking. The only thing I’m surprised by is that you’re locked into playing as Kay Vess and not able to create your own character, but that’s usually my least favorite part of any RPG, so I’m not really complaining!

Next week’s new releases are headlined by the relaunch of Wolverine, which includes the Patrick Gleason Adamantium foil variant pictured above!

Stephen’s So-Called Emo Life!

  • Chappell Roan - like the rest of the world, I’ve been captivated by her pop hooks to the point that I have to limited myself to only listening to “Red Wine Supernova”, “Hot To Go”, and “Pink Pony Club” once a day.

  • Sincere Engineer - I checked them out because they’re opening for New Found Glory at the Ritz in Raleigh on Sunday, and I really dig the raw vocals and great wordplay in the lyrics. Their album Cheap Grills is in heavy rotation.

  • Unstable - this Rob Lowe Netflix vehicle reminds me a lot of the too soon departed Better Off Ted, which is a good thing!

Hopefully you’ve been staying dry on this dreary Thursday. Me, Jay and Mike have been hunkered down at the shop overhauling our back issue bins with brand-new dividers and hundreds of new comics for your browsing please, so be sure to check them out next time you’re in!

That said, we were paid a visit by a famous frankfooter yesterday in the parking lot, which caused Jay & I to go down a rabbit hole of Weinermobile lore. For example, did you know that each vehicle has two drivers, known as hot doggers, which have to be college seniors to apply, and last year there were 7,000 applicants for the 12 national positions!

Stephen’s So-Called Emo Life!

  • The Boys Season 4 - I don’t know if I’ve ever watched another show where if you look away or miss a single scene, the entire game has changed, and that happens three or four times every episode. It makes me want to go back and try the comics again (I stopped at the end of the second arc when Black Noir had sex with an asteroid to make it explode, thus avoiding the collision with Earth).

  • Sourcery - now that I finally finished Temptations of the Force and have about a month window until Beware the Nameless on the 27th, I’m back on my Terry Pratchett ish.

  • Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed - Carly has been jonesing for a game we can “play together”, a.k.a. she can watch me play ever since I finished up Hogwarts Legacy and Jedi Survivor, so this is for her!

Today’s my 40th birthday, so, despite the rain, I tripped it down to Carowinds with Jay, Colton, and Chris Giarrusso for my annual Thursday skip-day! We did get soaked, but got in rides on every coaster except Vortex, so I’d call it a success nonetheless!

Next week is a 5th Wednesday for the month, so not a lot going on that isn’t from Marvel, but here’s the complete list, regardless!
