Ssalefish GSO First Look #37 for 12.13.17
Even though liquidating more than half of my collection and opening the store quelled many of my collector/ completionist tendencies, putting the needs of our customers and, you know, money over my own, I'm not completely immune.
Carly got me the Mondo exclusive Ramona Flowers figure (right, green hair, pink top) for my 32nd birthday back in July of 2016, but it didn't arrive until this October due to manufacturing issues. Then on Black Friday, Mondo announced a limited edition version (left, blue hair, black top) with just 400 pieces worldwide, and the part of my brain that got all six of the Scott Pilgrim Collector's Edition hardcovers to go with my normal version and first printing paperbacks kicked in. Purchased! And what would my collection be without the final variant, exclusive to Previews (middle, pink hair, white shirt), but Diamond had already sold out the run via wholesale channels, so I had to buy it from another retailer for full price. So now I've spent close to $200 on figures for a series that would only cost $149.94 in hardcover or $64.99 in paperback, they're all still in the box (that's a stock image from someone else up top) and Ramona isn't even my favorite character!
UPDATE: The Elon University Festival of Holiday Lights that I mentioned in the blog last week has been rescheduled for tonight, Thursday, December 7th at 6:30 due to the rain on Tuesday night!
