One of the fond Thanksgiving traditions from my youth, like going to play Par-3 golf with my dad and Uncle Dennis, was my mom and my Aunt Karen taking the oversized edition of the newspaper stuffed-to-bust with sales circulars, like we would be later that day with stuffing, and making their plan of attack for Black Friday. In the spirit of trying to keep that mystery going until Turkey Day, we won’t fully reveal our biggest sales of the year until 24 hours before it go into effect, but rest assured that you won’t have to get up at the crack of dawn, and it will be the most unrestricted and easy-to-understand discount system we’ve ever had! It’s been a crazy year, and we’re just trying to keep it as simple as can be!
For those of you that asked after the Jazzmaster I was talking about last week, I decided to redo the electronics and pick-up configurations in a few of the guitars I already had rather than break the bank on that one at the moment. The immediate satisfaction of pulling the trigger on a brand-new guitar and having it in my hands in two days isn’t the same as doing tracings for custom pickguards and sourcing pick-ups and hardware from different companies and just hoping I don’t screw everything up once it all finally arrives from a postal service that’s dragging along, but I think if I can make it all work better than the last time I tried mod a guitar in 2003, it’ll be even better in a different way.
