Our Batman #50 exclusive variant cover is so good it got me to change by desktop wallpaper for the first time in almost 3 years. Josh Middleton killed it. And this is the guy that co-created X-23 and set the speculation world on fire with his Batgirl #23 cover. It's so tasteful and elegant. Very Audrey Hepburn. I love it.

Last night I bought my first Pops since 2014 (back with Arrested Development's George-Michael Bluth "Mr. Manager" spoke to me), but I couldn't resist the Bronx Bombers! Aaron Judge has filled the whole in my heart left by Derek Jeter retiring (also in 2014, and evidenced by this post from last May). The high socks, the freckles, I dig it.

I'll probably go all-in on the Sandlot Pops, too, if I can find the Wendy Peffercorn & Squints Target exclusive 2-pack (I think I've mentioned before that I'm a completist). All baseball Pops, all the time!

Still can't wrap my head around going to see a Star Wars movie when it's nice outside after Force Awakens, Rogue One, and Last Jedi in December, or seeing two Star Wars movies in the same year for that matter, but I'll be at the AMC Classics 18 tonight between 6:30 and 7:30 for the first showings of Solo!

One of my quiet goals running up to our one year anniversary was a hope that we'd hit 1,000 Facebook Likes. We came up a little short at 996, but split the difference with the 1,014 followers on there and you've got 1,005. I'll count that as a win! And with the new Facebook 10-point rating system, we're certified NM+!

Happy birthday to my wonderful wife Carly! Unable to help my own nerdy tendencies while trying to make sense of her love of makeup, I got her some of the Agent Carter Besame Cosmetics collection...and a second pair of Airpods. I'll also know if she actually reads the blog by figuring out if I just spoiled the surprise or not.

This is without a doubt one of the coolest projects we've ever pulled off! One of those things that just popped into my head with a tag of "wouldn't that be funny," transitioned to an Adobe project way beyond my meager means, and then with the help of my friends became an insane reality! Pumped for Infinity War tonight! I won't be in the first show at 7:00 at the AMC Classics Greensboro, because out of me and Jay, one of us has to close and the other has to continue to pass out FREE copies of Infinity Gauntlet #1 and spread the word of Free Comic Book Day to the masses!

We're getting PUMPED for Free Comic Book Day 2018, now just a little over two weeks away! We keep uncovering more and more books to add to the stock for $1 comics (or 20 for $10) and $5 trade paperbacks (or 5 for $20), we had to make more room for our latest Funko shipment, which means more $8 Pops (or 4 for $25) for the fire, and then there's even more overstock figures for our deep discounts!

Today marks our official one year anniversary! In that time, we've been open 363 out of 365 days, we opened late, closed early, and left the shop in Bret's hand a full day once each. I'd like to take more time to pontificate some more stats, but we've got 12,000 Free Comic Book Day books waiting at the back door to be counted and stamped, plus you'd probably rather hear about...
