Imagine that since Marvel Comics #1 in 1939, the House of Ideas had been publishing a monthly title literally called Marvel Comics for the last 80 years (approximately 960 issues, but it’s Marvel, so there HAD to be some double-shipping in there) and you get to 1,000. Marvel Comics #1000 will contain one page from each year of those eight decades. It is THE Marvel 80th anniversary celebration.

Today’s my 35th birthday! To celebrate, I didn’t go see blink-182 on Tuesday night at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte (I worked the House of X midnight release instead), but I did post a video of myself playing the intro to Blink’s original side one, track one, “Carousel.”

One year at Baltimore Comic Con, probably in September of 2009, I asked Jonathan Hickman what issues of Fantastic Four he had read to get psyched for his upcoming run on Marvel’s First Family. His response was “all of them.”

Tomorrow night I make my triumphant (and I say triumphant because I’ve never seen them lose in person) return to Yankee Stadium for the first time since September 2014, when my parents got me tickets for Derek Jeter’s third to last game at home!

Thanks to everyone that came out and made our rain-shortened Independence Day Firework Ssale such a HUGE success! But we’re not done sweating out the hits just yet, as we’ll be taking the $1 comics (or 20 for $10) over to the GameStop by Target on Wendover tomorrow, Saturday, July 6th from 12 - 5 PM for one final run before we wholesale the lot and start all over for Baltimore Comic Con, Halloween Comic Fest, and the rest of our fall events!

Apparently Spider-man Far From Home is just coming out on Tuesday like a normal movie with showtimes starting around that morning, so it’ll be the 3rd MCU film (Dr. Strange & Thor Ragnarok before it) and first Spider-man flick I won’t have seen as soon as possible!
