Next month, I will watch Love Actually as I begrudgingly put all of my Marvel Tokidoki ornaments on the tree. I will belt along to Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" in my car. I will try not to cry during the Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip episode  "The Christmas Show."

As we near the end of the calendar year, there's so much to be thankful for!Needless to say from the picture above, I was in no position yesterday to post anything after dinner, but I was at it this morning at 7 AM with all of our Black Friday Deals! Just to review, those being (at this point):

So much going on this week! Local Comic Shop Day this Saturday at both Greensboro & Winston from 11 AM - 8 PM, Super Famicon 2017 Friday through Sunday at the Elm Street Center in downtown Greensboro, the Greensboro Toy, Hobby & Sportscard Show Saturday & Sunday at the Greensboro Coliseum, the Doomsday Clock 3 Minutes 'Til Midnight Release Party on Tuesday night from 9 PM - 12 AM, closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving Day, and then Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday madness!

Tonight I head out to New Jersey for my grandpa's 90th birthday! We never really connected on the geek culture (baseball was more of our thing), but that didn't stop him from taping every episode of Transformers for me (it wasn't syndicated down here when we moved in 1987), bought me my first MMPR Dragon Dagger at the now defunct chain Jamesway, and mailed me all of the Amazing Spider-man reprints that were sent out in the Star Ledger.

Halloween Comic Fest is this Saturday, and I'm in no way joking when I say that it's going to be even bigger than our Free Comic Book Day/ grand opening! 30+ titles to give away, 7 artists, sales & door prizes!

Tomorrow morning I'll be hitting the road with Smitty & Chris G. for Hampton Comicon in Virginia Beach! It's just a one day show put on by the promoters of Tidewater Comicon, but I'm looking forward to seeing a whole new comic scene (and eating BBQ)!

Six. Months.

Today marks six months that we've officially been open. The most shocking thing to me is that we've been open every day of it. As someone that used to try and daisy-chain holidays into five day weekends, that was a tough change. I think the longest streak I've had without a day off is 27.  No regrets!

Not much going on around this shop this weekend, but rest assured that it'll be the last time I can say that between now and the end of the year, so instead it's time for sports talk!
