Check out the new (hopefully reusable) bags coming to a Ssalefish near you next week!

The story of the week has definitely been me and Colton’s big construction day down in Concord yesterday (and Bret and Colton collecting everything we’ve been stashing around the Triad for the last three months and getting it down there on Wednesday), assembling fixtures and hanging slatwall. We were going through the pictures on my phone last Saturday, and I was shocked that we got to this point in less than a week, cause when Greensboro was finally at this point, it only took us two more week to open. That’s not me saying we’re gonna be open in two weeks, but it shouldn’t be too long now…

New word on moving in is Friday!

Other than that, Jay is in L.A. visiting family until next Wednesday, so you’ll probably see a LOT of me (or Hannah if I sandbag her here and run off to Concord to play with Jay & Colton)! He’s even at Disneyland today! Jealous!

We’re supposed to get the keys to the Concord store space on Monday, but they still need to paint, add the racing stripe to the top, and polish the floor, so we’ll see! After that, I probably won’t be around Greensboro for about a month!

In the meantime, Colton will be at the Charlotte Mini Con this Saturday at the Westin Charlotte, promoting the new store, pushing supplies to the collector-centric crowd, and moving everything we have that Adam Hughes has ever done!

Colton has officially moved down to Concord and the store is coming along! The contractor still has to paint and polish the concrete floor (very glad we don’t need to go through all of that again [I’m too old for that kind of back-breaking now]), but we are continuing to build up stock in the meantime!

We’ve been friends with Chris for over ten years, and since Image is no longer publishing the series, teaming up was just the next natural step. As many of you already saw on Facebook earlier today, I put together a new Greensboro exclusive logo for the shop featuring everyone’s favorite sales associate, Lois! Rest assured that we’re already into production on stickers, buttons, and enamel pins that you’ll be able to pick up very soon!

We also launched the Ssalefish Comics - Concord Facebook Page this morning, so head on over there and hit “like” to get a preview of new merchandise for the new shop, Colton’s travails as he moves to his new home, and the most up-to-date opening info!

I spent a lot of my downtime at the shop on Friday and Saturday tracing progressively more difficult Galaxy’s Edge logos to really dial in my Illustrator skills for something shop-not-Star-Wars-related that people have been asking about for a very long time and will hopefully be ready to show off next week!

Sick of Star Wars yet? Too bad! I got a Jedi robe that I’m not ashamed to wear out in public and a DL-44 for which I now need a holster for Christmas! I’m also reading Bob Iger’s book The Ride of a Lifetime, getting closer and closer to the parts about Marvel and Star Wars, which is giving me tons of new ideas for the shop and making me even more anxious to go back to Florida (or Anaheim, Tokyo, and Shanghai is Carly has her way)!

I’m down at the beach with my family this New Comic Book Thursday, but I hope you had an excellent Christmas! We were lucky enough to be joined by G-Man creator Chris Giarrusso at my house for the high holiday, and he gifted me his first ever drawing of the breakout star of Rise of Skywalker, Babu Frik!
