I’m down at the beach with my family this New Comic Book Thursday, but I hope you had an excellent Christmas! We were lucky enough to be joined by G-Man creator Chris Giarrusso at my house for the high holiday, and he gifted me his first ever drawing of the breakout star of Rise of Skywalker, Babu Frik!

We’ll be closing on Tuesday, December 24th at 5 PM instead of the usual 7 PM for Christmas Eve, we’ll be closed all day on Wednesday, December 25th for Christmas, and we’ll have New Releases ready to go at 8 AM on Thursday, December 26th, when we’ll close at 7 PM as usual. That’s it! Hours and new releases will be business as usual for the week of New Year’s and then, weather permitting, will be that way until we open early for Free Comic Book Day in May!

I’ve said it over and over at the shop, but I think my favorite part of the trip may have actually been the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I hadn’t over-researched it, I didn’t overthink where we would go and when, that was “Carly’s part of the trip,” and it made for such a surprising and chill experience.

Read MoreSince July, I’ve read every book on that shelf, plus the Black Spire novel currently in my bag and the “Perfect Weapon” digital exclusive novella, totaling roughly 10,000 page of prose. I caught up on all 27 issues of Star Wars Adventures and all of the accompanying mini series while continuing to keep up with every Marvel comic. I’ve watched all four seasons of Rebels, three and a half seasons of Clone Wars (the CG one), and the pilot of Resistance (twice). I’ve played through the story mode of Battlefront II even though I’m terrible at first-person shooters. And now all I can do is wait for my trip to Batuu!
